Amphitheater in
El Djem - the amphitheater is located in El Djem, in eastern Tunisia. The third largest amphitheater in t he world after the Colosseum in Rome. Amphitheater was built betw een 230-238 AD, and his idea was probably the emperor Gordian I. He is the most spectacular Roman building in North Africa. Preserved in better condition than the Roman Colosseum and is the third largest amphitheater in the world. Surface of this monument is shaped like an ellipse with a circumference of 427 m, length 149 m and a width 124 m, and the audience rises to 36 m.
